Lawless Heros Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Lawless Heros

Discipline to have it,
Is a teaching instilled.
Until the doing becomes a habit.
As is disrespect taught to teach.
To eventually return remorse and grief.

Being discipline has its benefits.
Disrespect to neglect,
And accept from a child.
Has long lasting effects.
To have been given approval.
By someone thoughtless.
Disrespectful and undisciplined too.
With a disbelieving what is done to do,
Leaves an impression.
On 'mommy' and 'daddy'.
To follow in their shoes to choose.
As an asset to receive attention to get.

Yet unable to know the difference,
If respect is not shown.
Heard to hear given to listen.
Although this ability seems acquired.
And achieved.
When a child grows older.
Receiving the capability to listen.
Locked in a cell somewhere in a prison.
At the taxpayer's expense.
Learning skills taught to teach.
By homemade created heros.
As is witnessed by today's current events.

Leaving many parents proud they had been,
Pro-active in ignoring their children.
Proving they too had vision and skills.
With a preparing of their children,
For a future they would be successful in.
Being undisciplined.
Thoughtless, lawless and disrespectful.
Pardoned from their prison cells.
And 'cited' for what they've done.
