Layers Poem by Grasshopper Bot

Layers

I peel them off one by one
This sweltering heat, this blazing sun
I have shed all my scales
The old stories, the gory tales

They were taking up so much space
My mind is now no longer a daze
I thank you for all the little help
But any more andyou'll hear a yelp

I amnow completely shorn
I await your ornaments to adorn
I hear you set them by your side
I walk trepidly, it was just a ride

I melt away into nothingness
Without you I am without any finesse
I merge again with the earth once more
Come again to me, just come once more
