Lazy Poem by Israh Sadan

Lazy

Are you trying to
see how much
I can take before I break,
Or if I'll burst?
Sitting there,
watching me run
myself ragged
fending and feeding,
cleaning, not coping.

Or are you
deliberately trying
to break me?
You want me
to die trying
or quit, crying.
What's the point
you're trying to make? !
I see now you're all fake.
How could you possibly
have any love in you?

Well certainly not for me.
You blatantly delight
in watching me fight.
I grasp at straws
I gasp for air.
From the cold glint
in your eyes I know
that you'd push me
under if you weren't
too lazy to get up
from the couch.
