Lazy Feet Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Lazy Feet

Rating: 5.0

Lazy feet
- - - - - -
Nothing is as seductive
As the presence of her feet
Smiling not impressive
Speaking too much but
Every time of only choice
Is the postponement
Oh what a wonderful place
Wherein she hides her face
Whenever I am serious about something
She defers things like anything
I will see it tomorrow
And tomorrow does come
But only with tomorrow
Do you think I am left with nothing
Better than squandering
Myself on a wastrel like you
Why not tomorrow's work done today
And today's work now
For if the moment is lost
How will the work be done?
Let those pearls of sloth sleep
At the bottom of the sea and awaken
Me to the reality of today
For yesterday is dead and gone
Tomorrow's events are unknown
What is mine is today
What if confused by sweets of sloth
I forget today's wings
I may not fly far to live my dreams

Often we are seduced by Procrastination...... She is so bewitching that we fall into her spell and go on postponing things! If we can do things at the right time, half our fortune is assured! A poem reminding us of the need to do things on time! Great write!
