Bitter is heaven
- - - - - - - - - - -
To catch it I jumped high
Still a little higher
And it slipped away further
For it did hang not close at hand
That I could have it in my little hand
Hence I thought it
Unripened, sharp and acrid
Yet it tempted my greedy mouth
Again to clasp it I jumped
Only to see it slipping away a little further
Oh! this must be bitter
For to me the fruit in the tree
Is heaven not coming closer
Though so keen I was to its smell
Later I had its tastes
Sweeter blended with tastes bitter
Later I had its tastes Sweeter blended with tastes bitter It happens with all the poets but a good poem makes its place sooner or latter.
Beautiful write we reach for the desirable which can turn out to be sweet and sour! Thank you so much for your comments on my poem 'The Essence Is You'
some times our desire may not fulfill the way we like it.but reaches us in some other form..........nice
The fruit evading your grasp is compared to heaven that is beyond our grasp while alive! Great write, Deepak!
