Bitter Is Heaven - Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Bitter is heaven
- - - - - - - - - - -
To catch it I jumped high
Still a little higher
And it slipped away further
For it did hang not close at hand
That I could have it in my little hand
Hence I thought it
Unripened, sharp and acrid
Yet it tempted my greedy mouth
Again to clasp it I jumped
Only to see it slipping away a little further
Oh! this must be bitter
For to me the fruit in the tree
Is heaven not coming closer
Though so keen I was to its smell
Later I had its tastes
Sweeter blended with tastes bitter

    Later I had its tastes
    Sweeter blended with tastes bitter
It happens with all the poets but a good poem makes its place sooner or latter.

Thoughtful write once again from your pen. Very true said, sometimes heaven too gives the bitter taste of hell.
In one sense, one cannot live only in heaven or only in hell. so we get the mixed taste of.......
Sweeter blended with tastes bitter. Loved reading it.

The fruit evading your grasp is compared to heaven that is beyond our grasp while alive! Great write, Deepak! (Report)Reply
