Le Complet. Poem by Michael Walker

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is in ' The Poetry Anthology 1912-2002', edited by Joseph Parisi and Stephen Young, p.438. It needs to be read in English also to appreciate the wit and plays on words, like ' it was going for a song'.
A man buys a tailor-made suit because it is a bargain and it fits him perfectly. 'It suited me down to the ground'. The poem appealed to me because of the wit and the fact that I have bought many suits myself.
The correct title is 'The Suit'.
