Leaves Poem by Barry Middleton

Leaves

staring out at the rain
is a thing that I love

the birds taking shelter
gray sky up above

I see a small lizard
beneath a flat leaf

awaiting the sun
to grant warm relief

safe under my roof
I'm without a doubt

grateful for refuge
to keep weather out
