Leaving To Stay Alive

leaving to stay alive

I mean the Soul, alive in my Soul

it is often necessary

so often necessary

as clouds leave the skies

as rain leaves the clouds

as the consciousness in dreams

subsides as

into vaster oceans

I'm not a shiftless person

to protect where God resides

in me, like a flashpoint

a vivid Beacon guiding,

illuminating, sweeping me away

from what is untenable

in codes I must defend

I must give heed to

or perish too early

never rising again.
