Left Uncured Poem by Amber Peterson

Left Uncured

Born, not yet shown the evils of the world.
Pushed out of her parents arms.
Left to see the way her life unfurled
Without anyone to protect her from future harms.

School, she was bullied and abused,
Evil was all she’d come to know.
Life had left her maimed and bruised.
Her forced smile was all she had left to show.

Choices, were made wrong without any though,
Bringing her farther from the light.
Even after all she had been taught,
About the ways to say no and fight.

Deeper, farther down she fell,
Because of all she had endured.
I am that she if you couldn’t tell.
Innocence gone, to be left uncured.
