Legalism Poem by Manager Poet

Legalism

It’s a way to take the neck of grace and put it in the hangman’s rope.
Rules, rules, and more rules for the sake of rules gives you false hope.
Legalsim reduces the spirit of what has been given to a checklist.
Missing out on knowing that Jesus has always been in our midst.

I’m not stating that obedience to His will is some cosmic mistake.
Just be careful not to focus on rule keeping for rule keeping’s sake.
It is written that God desires mercy and not sacrifice.
Maybe it means when dealing with others, please be nice.

There are those who love to argue because they think it’s what you do.
They point out a more perfect way so that we can be like them too.
One more line since this poem is not very fun.
Think about all the damage caused by a simple verbal gun.
