Lens Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Lens

Lens

For many, many years
Nanjing was in cover,
Was untold like never
Existed in China…

But Nixon, Kissinger
Started lengthy game,
That has lasted till today
Ping Ponged those players.

Sat Mao with West and
Abandoned good Russia.

After dawn came the sun
And brightened China
Thanks to the investors.

"Spend less to gain more."

With changes all around
Factories filled China…

China made for export
Using the others' name
Like Japan, USA…

Soon after, a label:
Read the "Made in Chines."

Among what they have made
Come paper, pen, and the lens.

Now, they have the basis
To speak about days:
That were bad and remain:
"Enemy killed women
Or used them for comfort."

Asia is too rich
With the good and evil
In a long, and ancient history.
