Let Go Poem by Toni O'Neill

Let Go

So long cruel place of harmful thought
I'm leaving now, I'm to abort
The feeling's stayed for way too long
The fear has made me not belong

The pressure's reached it's boiling point
The pain is felt in every joint
The anger's taken over me
The hate's too much for you to see

The sadness lingers day by day
The guilt it just won't go away
The love from one is not enough
For so it seems my heart's too tough

The emptiness comes crashing through
The understanding ones are few
Belief in better things to come
Is each day being fast undone

There is no cure, no magic pill
No way to think, no way to feel
The only way I've ever known
Is block it out and cope alone

My mind's confused and so it shows
The only thing left is
just
to
go
