Let It Pour! - Poem by Dónall Dempsey

The puddles
flash red green

as we splash
through the neon night

our hearts
as light
as our laughter

carried off by a sudden
gust of wind

our umberella
like some frisky pet
scampering before us

as the rain pours
down on us

and our own umberella
chases another
escaped umberella

Do we care?

We only
aware

that we are
us

and that
us

is in love

in love in love in love

Let it pour!

You're title drew me in as it was sunny and beautiful and I was off to the club to meet friends to sun and swim etc. and now the sky is dark and about to POUR....But this is a clever write of a love poem, well done....Those bloody umbrellas never want to stay in place as should be! ! ! Get soaked, what the heck, you're in love and it feels grand! ~~~~~~~marci.m. :) (Report) Reply
