Let Me Pretend Poem by Mark Heathcote

Let Me Pretend

Rating: 5.0

Still, waters, moon-reflected
Let me swim through you
And drown my sins in their sorrow
In their darkness, I have swum
Owning nothing to who I really- am.
In their marshes, I've mud-sunken
Clawings on some distant shores
Wolven, I have fed howling
Wishing I, too, were slain, dead
But this life hasn't any still waters.
There aren't any clear pictures
One can trust - with your life
But the moonlight here is serene
In this tranquil water
Let me dream - let me pretend.
I have but one friend.

Still sliver moon-light is nicely reflected forming motivational imagery here and mind takes interest to swim more in such water. In this darkness we need to wash sins and sorrows to get calmness of pure life and gaining light of wisdom. One can trust in life of self. The moonlight here is serene in these tranquil waters. This scene announces us to dream here and pretend. An excellent poem is very beautifully crafted....10
