Let the fires of the night
Increase
And ruddy thunder peals
Decrease
And chameleon-changing lights
Of moon and stars
Over the hoots of caves
And
Whispering crevices
And the wave-beatings oars
Of silver ships
Following a moon-golden trail
Upon the waters' breasts
In old Valletta!
