Let Them Gaze On Me Poem by Mark Heathcote

Let Them Gaze On Me

Lovers, at times, must devour each other.
Like snakes with a head devouring a tail
Headless might I writhe in your loins.
And cask off my falseness.
Might I coil in your arms?
Feel the press of a grape skin bursting.
Let me sense the motion of eyelids, oubliette
Locked in their dungeons with ageless desire.
Let them gaze on me as if I were a fire
To open their vaults and watch them awhile.
