Let You Go Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

let you go

I was a little apprehensive
but remained submissive
and lived under uncertainty
as you had decided already

you were finding no excuses
so hurled abuses
and put the wild allegations
to strain the relation

what is the use of holding a person?
against her will with no reasons
I gave no reply but kept mum
and went along with the wisdom

we were cordial and accommodated
held progressive views and never remained outdated
but now she was getting irrational
and taking everything as personal

'go off from life'
'you have created hell and made it with torn strife'
everything went on expected lines
only I had to keep restraint and feel fine

'let us part with peacefully' I proposed
let us weigh it carefully
if you have decided to go it alone
well make up the mind and stand as gone

she never thought the wind shall be blown off gently
now she was in fix to retrace steps suddenly
she stared into my eyes and questioned
is that alright what you mentioned!

I knew she was hesitant
but presented it with a cool mind
you can find your original place
to live without you is really baseless
