Letter To My Ex Father's In-Law Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

Letter To My Ex Father's In-Law

Letter To My Ex father's in-Law,
I pen this heartfelt plea, for thee.
Though paths diverge, memories remain,
A tapestry of moments, joy and pain.

Within these lines, my gratitude I share,
For all the love and kindness you did bear.
Your guidance shaped my steps, your wisdom true,
A beacon in the storms that life threw.

I recall the days when laughter filled the air,
Family feasts, where love was always there.
Your jokes and tales, they brought such pure delight,
A warmth that lingers, even in the night.

Through ups and downs, you stood beside my side,
A pillar strong, a source of steadfast pride.
Your counsel wise, a guiding light for me,
In moments of doubt, you set my spirit free.

Though our paths have parted, memories endure,
A bond unbroken, forever pure.
This poem serves as a heartfelt token of my esteem,
For the man you are, the father you have been.

May time be kind, and bring you peace and grace,
A life abundant, filled with love's embrace.
Know that in my heart, a special place you'll hold,
A chapter cherished, never to be sold.

So, dear ex-father-in-law, I bid adieu,
With gratitude and love, my heart imbues.
May this poem carry all that I intend,
A tribute to the bond that will transcend.
