Letters Home From Vietnam Poem by Ronald Strickland

Letters Home From Vietnam

As a Soldier in Vietnam I would write letters home,
to tell the family how I am.

Not saying much about
the war in Vietnam.

Not to worry the family that a
friend and soldier who
shared the bunk next to me
lost his life today and would not
be sending letters home from Vietnam.

Friends would write home from Vietnam
and tell of his best friends
now serving with them in Vietnam.
'Say Hi to your family, ' a friend
would say when you would write
home a letter from Vietnam.

You would become a part of each
others families by way of letters home from Vietnam.
Families would ask about you and to say hello.

You become a new member of each others
families through letters home from Vietnam.
