Letting Go.. - Poem by James Enoch
Most of my poems rhyme,
I don't think this one will.
Most of my poems don't talk about the others,
but this isn't like the others.
I don't know if my phone has lit up or not.
I haven't really checked.
I'm not quite sure how you're doing today.
I know I thought about asking,
but I don't want you to feel the pain of remembering me.
All our conversations are dead ends,
the words can't say what we feel.
Maybe our eyes can..
but our eyes depart as soon as they meet.
Sometimes I find myself listening to Spanish love songs.
I do not know what they say,
I can only feel the emotion.
I picture you, being alone too..
listening to the same song,
you may be the only one who knows the words,
but we both can share the feeling.
I want you to know, there is no more pain in remembering..you.
