Letting Go Of Illusions Poem by Putri Misnia Shary Bahri

Letting Go Of Illusions

Rating: 5.0

When nights whisper secrets
and love's pure face
Fades like the dawn
we're left to replace
The memories of what
could never be
Crashing waves on
the shore
a love lost at sea

We wander searching for answers
in the pain
Why love's beauty is often tainted
why hearts are vain
When one side bears the weight
and the other plays
With feelings
like a fantasy
without a care or sway

But then we heal
and goodbye becomes our guide
We let go of the illusions
and the heartache subsides
For in the end it's not worth
the tears and the strife
To hold on to a love that's
not meant to be ours to
