JIN LING JIU LIU BIE (Parting at A Jinling Tavern)
-- Li Bai (701--762)
-- Translated by Frank C Yue
At a tavern filled by wind-blown willow fragrance fine,
A southern maiden asks guests to taste newly-pressed wine.
To wish me good-bye, my young Jinling friends come in train;
I have to leave but stay for all to have the cups drain'd.
O, Please ask the never-ceasing east-flowing river --
Whose parting woes, yours or mine, will stay longer ever!
