Li Yu: Over The Tower Small Last Night The East Wind Came Once More 李煜 小樓昨夜又東風

Tune: YU MEI REN - Fair Lady Yu
Tile: The Spring flowers and the Autumn Moon
- Li Yu (937-978)
- Translated by Frank C Yue (version 2)

The Spring flowers and the Autumn Moon,
Would all these end soon?
(All things come to pass -)
Myriad were the events past.

Over the tower small
Last night
The East Wind came once more,
My kingdom lost I can't bear to recall
In the moonlight bright.

The carved railings and jade balustrades should still be in places,
Changed only would be the rouge faces.
O! How much sorrow could a man suffer?
Just like the waters of the Spring river,
Towards the East flowing!
