Tune: The Waves Scouring Sands
Title: Outside the curtains the rains a-falling
- Li Yu

Outside the curtains the rains a-falling,
Away Spring is fading.
The silk quilt is no match
For the cold at the fifth watch.
I dreamt in vain,
For a moment not knowing that an exile am I.

Alone, one should ne'er lean by the railing:
My boundless domain stretches far and wide.
It's easy to say goodbye,
But hard to meet again.
Away flowing
Are the fallen flowers, waters and Spring.
From Heaven above high
I'd fallen into the secular world.
