Lies Haiku Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Lies Haiku

she can see
his lies
stealing into his eyes

only a pillow away
the distance between them
too great

her sadness
a cigarette
turned to ash

the cigarette
smokes itself
watches her cry

the whole pack
smokes itself
the loneliness of hours

a sculpture of sadness
a cigarette
of ash
