Life Poem by Molly Dorhn

Life is a rollercoaster.
It has its ups and its downs,
We forget to unplug the toaster,
And we seem like clowns,

We laugh and we cry,
We live and we love,
We get low and we get high,
We push and we shove,

We breathe and we sleep,
We hug and we kiss,
We curse and we weep,
We hope and we wish,

We give and we take,
We wonder and question,
We all lie awake,
Come and make your confession,

Life is a rollercoaster,
It has its ups and its downs,
We become a big boaster,
We get lost in the sounds,

We hang on and let go,
We fall apart at the seem,
But we have nothing to show,
And we kick and we scream,

We all will be healing,
We all fall in love,
We all get a funny feeling
We can’t rise above,

With these words spoken,
We’re all left mind-blown,
It won’t fix all that is broken,
But at least it is known,

We want and we long,
We live and we die,
We all sing along,
But we’ll never know why.
