Life-And-Death Poem by Dorothy Kardas, Psy.D. Th.D.

Life-And-Death

No inhale,
No exhale
Can go unnoticed... unpunished...
Impenitent disgrace against Light
With no trace can ever vanish...
Punish the senses... severely punish!

With unsparing... core servile
Detesting fully debaucheries vile
Bearing in mind Beatific Gate...
The telluric appetite - fervently mortify
Bloodthirsty demons - by lowly mien... terrify

Frightened to death by ruthless night
Infernal monsters, place of dead and lost...
Pay! on earth the highest cost...
By single-minded penance, sacrifices heroic
Good will, alms-giving and sufferings stoic...

To His Healing Wounds... bind...
Victorious Bloody Footprints... find...

Frightened to death by eternal night
The everlasting, devouring, torturing fire,
The never-ending pain procured by unjust gain,
The fleeting, pleasure-loving, disordered desire,
The heart-rending, agonizing 'living' demise,
The mocking, violent, demonic eyes,
The inconsolable lamentations and piercing cries,
The hellish malice for deriding the All-Healing Chalice...

Corrupters of clean hands
Reprobates obstinate
Violators of innocence
Gaze at His spotless Countenance
Bearing in mind His Holy Wrath
For no one escapes His Hands...

No one escapes... life or death...
When the breathing world ends...

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Dear B.H. Cannot in words suitably express my appreciation for your loyal support... Please, be assured however, of my constant prayers in your intentions. Thank you for the generous act of commenting on different poems in the past and recently; your remarks demonstrate careful and provident thought, and thus meritorious way of thinking and influence. Yes, my own soul's interior life and salvation, and impartibly the immortal life of others, is absolutely the greatest and the only permanent mandate. Sharing carefully and charitably with others what is bestowed in abundance by the Perfect Giver is also my inexpressible and unfading concern. Yet, the more we forget ourselves, the more knowledge we obtain of the Crucified One, and come closer to the purity of intention in our service, loyalty and devotion to Him. May the Author of Love continually and abundantly fill you with the Light of Grace... In union with His Love... D.K.

Love the prudent, provocative, bold, and mordant wit of your poems. I keep returning to your pages for they tell me you are most certainly concerned for mankind's final end. Everyone should be impelled and provoked to re-examine their ways of life and improving their errors before it is indeed TOO late! I do apologize for not commenting on each poem, sometimes I feel the need just to meditate and digest the message before taking action. But I do encourage everyone to read each line carefully.
