Life Brings Back To Life Poem by Mohammad Younus

Life Brings Back To Life

Life awakens life anew—
No long hours to endure.
I can no longer silence
The whispers in my mind:
You are never apart,
Though unseen by my mortal eyes.

How can I accept
That I am the fallen Adam,
Estranged from you?
When I see you,
Hear your voice in all things,
In every breath, in every sigh.

There's no journey to undertake,
No distance to measure.
No need to seek or draw near—
This life is yours, wholly yours.

Now that this truth dawns,
To deny it would be
A betrayal of my heart.
You were never hidden.

Everywhere I turn, I find only you.
No "I, " no "You, "
Only the essence of oneness, whole.
Yet, for love's playful sake,
I whisper: Let us
Play hide and seek.

But who is the seeker,
And who the sought?
This life is a fleeting game,
A child's fancy.
There's no veil to lift,
No illusion to destroy.

There's no journey to undertake,
No distance to measure.
To yearn for closeness
As if we are two—
That is the mind's trick.

What remains but this:
Your essence is mine,
And mine is yours,
Here and now, eternally whole.
