Life - I'd Like To Go Back - Poem by Paul Warren

I'd like to go back and do it all again
To see the people I loved and my friends
There would be no mistakes this time
And I would know which path to take just fine

I would see those sunrises as they should be
And know what it's like in the quest to be me
There would be no wrestling on how it would work
And I would certainly not repeat when I was a jerk

I know now that sometimes it's best to keep quiet
Even when I am eager and I'm internally fired
So in the end to merely sit back in the fact
Would mean less criticism in life's eternal tract.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I'd like to think if given a second chance I wouldn't make the same mistake.

i know and most hate the feeling: its destructive presence can never change a thing.but hey, its a good poem: i love the rhyme. (Report) Reply
