LIFE, I NEED A HUG

For the sorrow thrown my way by those who should be caring

For the trouble that keeps on chasing me no matter how fast I try to run

For the heartbreaks I had to endure in the hands of people whose love I really deserve

For the endless string of poverty that always puts me at the centre stage of suffering

Life, I need a hug, please!

For the trauma I was put through by heartless and careless souls around me

For exposing my eyes to the most horrible scenes in the world

For the bad things said about me that my ears unconsciously heard

For having friends who look like doves of peace yet bite like sharks of the sea

Life, I need a hug, please!

For giving out my heart to love only for it to be ripped into pieces consistently

For breathing the same air with those who came to the world to cause chaos and havoc

For watching my dreams crash helplessly only to be comforted with an old cliché of "One day it will be okay" as if I am not good enough to achieve today

For drowning in the pool of problems and be pampered with nice and kind words covered with pure pretence

Life, I need a hug, please!

I need a hug because the world is weighing heavily on my shoulders

I need a hug because I struggle to breathe as life challenges constantly strangle me

I need a hug because everything I touch falls and I have no strength to bend and pick it up

I need a hug because I know that nature does not have to dislike me this much

And I will hang in here until that hug arrives and change my fortunes

And because I was not cursed, I know I don't deserve to wait a little bit longer.
