Life Is No Toy Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Life Is No Toy

Life is no toy

The life was never same
I wish to pass no blame
"If it was the fate" as people put
I shall skip the race and not talk about

As an orphan boy
Life seemed no toy
I was brought up under strict control
It was disciplined of course and taught me to jump hurdles

As flowers open their petals
I too grew into adult individual
The life seemed enterprising
It was really surprising

It fed me with one reason
Why people talked about cruel persons?
The land was like heaven
The calm and peace had already descended on

It was now emerging
For me going into to an alliance
I had seen her
And sent an offer

She readily agreed
Without presence of greed
Two souls had an urgent need
It was soul-searching question and we obliged
