Life Is Short, Let Us Make It Sweet

Life I wonder what thou art
But know thou sweet and short
Yet with bitterness and disgrace
Every day we fight
Over share of land and other assets
While God above laughs
For all land is his and our life is too short
To be wasted in bitterness and hatred most
Then what is the purpose of life
If we don't fight for what is legitimate
And that's only fair and just
As long as it breaks not homes
It divides not families
It brings not disharmony and turbulence
In life too short yet sweet
For the aim of life is to cultivate the soul
And to experience peace and bliss
This life is given to us
Not to own and possess
But to love and give and share
With those less fortunate than we are
At the end of earthly journey
Do we realize the time that
We have wasted in futile pursuits
But it is never too late
We can start right now
And prepare for the long
Onward, forward journey
That we all have to undertake sooner or later

For the aim of life is to cultivate the soul And to experience peace and bliss We deviate from the prime purpose of life and fight and quarrel over wealth which are not our eternal possessions! The thought that once we have to leave everything behind and set out on a long journey.... should make us wish for wealth that our soul requires.....ie love of God and man! Very meaningful and inspiring thoughts Deepak!
