Life, Just Life Poem by King Njoroge

Life, Just Life

Everybody's chasing after life
Honey, why don't we do this anymore?
Why didn't life work out like it was supposed to?
Why do I keep getting older yet there is zero progress?
I'll tell you why, yes I will tell all
Life is not your dog
You do not train life telling it what to do
And what not to
Life is more like wild fire
Spreads out to infect as many as it can
Like the grim reaper, harvesting countless number of souls
And then back for more tomorrow
You don't run after the wind in a desert
All know this is a fool's errand
Life is what you make it
Whether you are down for the count
Or as high as a kite
Life is what gets you up in the morning
Life gets you to sleep
Life lands you in prison because you stand up for yourself
Life gets you beat up at school because you are weird and too tall
Life punishes you for your good deeds
Life pays in cash... or many, very many sleepless nights
Life is what you make it
You are what you make of yourself
Yes, life is you and you are life
Life does not mess you up
We are just born that way
Don't cry, enjoy life
At least while you still can
Because we are all ticking time bombs
Time runs out
We all ring out
We all die sometime
Yes we do, we all do...
