life's cauldron
takes it all in;
freedom - thralldom,
such a fine elixir!
a pinch of wit,
a touch of soul's ubiquity
thrown in the mixture,
decoctions of experience
stirred in for
fuller bodied flavor,
half a cup of introspection,
tablespoon of garnered favor,
a smidge of dark mood,
dash of attitude,
then laughter and desire.
[in copious amounts,
these last two]
simmer over open fire.
thus, this cauldron
overflows
with life's ingredients
all doubled.
dare i chant the obvious?
bubble, bubble
toil and trouble!
