Life's Little Y Poem by Candika Niada

Life's Little Y

While walking down lifes gravel road,
I came upon a Y.
To the right a weary path paved over by time,
To the left a small dirt road.

I turn to the right,
Knowing what is ahead.
A life of fake happiness,
Conditional love and regrets.

I turn to the left,
Unsure of what lies beyond
This little dirt road
Might be my chance.

A chance at true happiness,
Unconditional love
And alittle less regrets.
I took the path to the left.

I've had hardships,
A few heartaches along the way;
I've lost some close friends,
And gained many more.

I've loved and lost at love,
Moved and moved again,
Fell farther than I have ever before,
Been the highest I've ever been.

I look back to that Y,
And wonder everyday,
'Did I make the right choice? '
Then it's clear to me.

Of course I did.
I found the meaning
Of perfect happiness,
True love and no regrets.

I chose Life
Back at Life's Little Y.
And as I think back,
A smile forms.
