Life's Race Poem by Bassam Hussain

Life's Race

Earth stop your dance
The Moon fix this face
Stars hold this stance
The sun lose your pace

Let time come to stop
I'm far behind the line
How am i supposed to run!
With this weight on my spine

I am heavy in mind
I am heavy in thought
The weight always increases
By every sense brought

How am i to cope
With bodies running free
While time still runs
And I'm jammed in knee

Let days, months and years
By stopping appear as one
To be beside the weightless
No need for me to run
