Light Shadow Flickered In Time Before Atomic Clocks Poem by Terence George Craddock

Light Shadow Flickered In Time Before Atomic Clocks

in science age
of atomic clocks
and cellphones

replacing
the wrist watch
and alarm clocks

it is easy
to forget
the importance

of light
shadow
in the history

of humanity;

huge effort
was needed
to elevate

the sundial
in size scale
to early sites

tracking the sun stars;

to create past
mystic megalithic
structures like Stonehenge

with alignments
with the sun at sunset
during the winter solstice

sunrise during the summer solstice;

site latitude in respect
to the Great Pyramid Equator
is precisely defined

by the silver ratio;

once source golden light
shadow played cosmic
scales in human minds
