Light Sources Illuminate Purpose Survival Choices Poem by Terence George Craddock

Light Sources Illuminate Purpose Survival Choices

bees wax candles
fat burned oils
whale oil burned
into romantic kerosene lamps;

magic electric lights
neon city lights
laser industrial lights
clever creative humanity;

creates artificial lights
aping nature light source animals
generating bioluminescence;

fireflies use light
to locate lure mates
vampire squids;

use purpose light
to hide ambush tentacle
grasped predation prey;

while humanity uses light
to turn primeval dangerous night
into rational reasoned safer day;
