Lightly Dozing (Thinking Of You) - Poem by Michael P. McParland

I'm just lying here lightly dozing
as I listen my audio book.
One I've started before but have always
fallen asleep during or my mind has wandered.
It's a collaboration between one of my
favorite authors John Sandford and the fellow
who wrote The Bone Collector.
It's a short story in an anthology of writers working together.
I am paying attention and catching the story
but I'm also thinking of you and wishing that you were here.
To hold so very closely and reassure you
that all is well and that I love you so much
and will always stand by you because you're my Angel.
I'm just lightly dozing and I'm reaching out
to pull you in and so tightly hold you.
You are an amazing woman and I want you to know
I care for you to no end my sweet Queen and Angel.

Feel all of my love and my hand within yours
as I take it so firmly yet gently and place it
on my chest while still holding it.
Feel how it beats for you my darling hero,
I so admire and cherish you and just want to hold you
so as I lay here lightly dozing listening
to my book on audio know that I love you
and feel my hand within yours and my arms around you
as I pull you in so very tightly to hold you so tightly
giving you comfort and peace you need so very badly.
I love you sweet Kira you are my Angel
and I swear to you I'll never forsake you.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I love you my beautiful one and feel my arms around you as I pull you in while I lay here lightly dozing and listening to my stories. I love you so very much my darling Kira and I would give my whole life to have just one night to snuggle with you and share sweet kisses so passionate and good. ILYF
