A Delicate Rainy Morning

If I felt that you had been here,
it was because your angel would have touched me with his wing like a breeze,
and
you would have been here with him
in an indestructible sensation.
Maybe you thought if the angel had told me,
I would have known,
but he wouldn't have said anything.
He would never tell me,
but I've been waiting for you,
to give me your love
in rainy mornings
with hopeless awakes...

Cloud is an angel who touches us with raindrops. The rainy day imagery is beautifully drawn in this poem. This is an excellent sharing done here.

    Marieta maIngleas,
Hello, I am new to your writing. this was a delight. Inner freshness of thought regarding the devoted purity of affection for another. With angelic presence. Brush of his wing but he would not tell me. Hope just speaks out in this lovely poem. Thankyou for writing blessings, Kathy

The angel had his own way of telling me about the poet's muse but the man had his own limitations. Very well explained. Thanks.
but I've been waiting for you,
    to give me your love

Calling this a Blues Poem is very appropriate. At a concert many years ago the Blues singer Taj Mahal told us the Blues can be many things but they ALWAYS have to be s-w-e-e-t, and your poem is suffused with sweetness peeking through the sadness of a lost opportunity for love/affection/sharing. I noticed you used the helping verb WOULD five times in 13 lines - that verb precisely expresses the sadness of lost opportunity. But the movement of this poem has a compelling counter-rhythm expressed in the sheer loveliness of the DELICATE RAINY MORNING. Do you know Shakespeare's line MERCY DROPPETH AS THE GENTLE RAIN FROM HEAVEN TO THE PLACE BELOW? That's the counter-rhythm which saves the poem from abject sadness so the sweet blues can work their magic and salvage some happiness in the promise of love in the future. This rainfall is shining!

For me not so easy to understand 4 lines…’waiting’ and ‘hopeless awakes’ …needs contemplation

But rest part of poetry is a flowething emotion and excellent…
