Lightning Poem by shakil ahmed

Lightning

Rating: 5.0

Lightning

O lightning, the harbinger of thunder
In the cool and gentle sky
Far above the abodes of men
Where lovely penguins fly
Flapping their soft feathery wings
With your brilliant and cogent light
In the dark and cloudy night
With full confidence you Shaw your might.
Then comes rapidly and rapidly
Appalling and blaring thunder,
That makes us deaf for some moments,
Unfolding mighty Nature’s wonder.
Then with a casual slow pace
Descends a shower of rollicking rain,
Watering the parched agrarian land,
Helps to grow our much needed grain.
Lightning, thunder and splashy rain
Are in a way concealed boon
During the dripping rainy season
They occur very soon and soon.
