Lights on, lights off
What are your thoughts?
What is it you are thinking?
Is it intuitive only to you?
Inside out, or is it more, more?
Part of a whole that assumes
Even though in part it's not fully aware
It knows everything there is to know.
That is important to know in any given place.
Because it's only a part of the whole.
And the whole is never truly there.
It's as fleeting as a chain of Christmas lights.
Seen in a flash but never remembered
But like a flashing bright light that
Even when it's not there, you still see it.
Feel it like the pulse in your wrist
Ah, that sometimes you sense
And other times you don't
Lights on, lights off
What drivel is this that rolls off my tongue
I guess you'd call it consciousness.
But hey, guess what? I don't know.
As I too am only a small part of the whole.
