Like A Flying Kite Poem by Dee Gey

Like A Flying Kite

I fly upon the wind with delight,
Soaring high and might like a kite.
With every gentle gust, I find my way-
Through boundless skies - where dreams stay.
Above the rolling clouds; rests my peace,
A balanced motion, my soul is freed.
Each ribbon flutters, whispers to the breeze;
A silent prayer, carried with ease.
I am the embodiment of freedom's gift,
Drifting above earth's embrace.

The sun greets with its gentle rays.
While I float in the vast, open space.
Birds sing songs of praise in the sky,
As they witness my beauty while I glide on by.

When the day wanes - the sun bids goodbye,
I descend gently, back to earth I fly.
My memory lingers, like a whispered plea,
For the next gust of wind, to set me free.
Just like a kite, soaring high and might,
I'll forever drift in the golden light.
For in the skies above, I'll always roam,
A free spirit - searching for a home.
