Like A River That Runs Out Into A Delta Poem by Gert Strydom

Like A River That Runs Out Into A Delta

Like a delta in a river
you do split away from me,
our lives are spread out from each other
from the first morning light

as if we are in different worlds,
do only know each other at night
and yet you do bring deep meaning
while constantly I can reckon on you

while there is love in each glance and action of you
as if you keep that which is between us high and holy.
