Like All Things Of Nature Poem by Francis Duggan

Like All Things Of Nature

It may be in your young years or when you are old and gray
But for you just like me there will be a last day
A day when our ears become deaf to all praise and all scorn
A day we live to since the day we were born
Many believe in a life beyond their final day
And for fogiveness for their sins to their chosen god pray
Their loyalty to the supreme being they believe in through reverence they do pay
But if religion makes them better people well that seems quite okay
But for your dead relatives and friends why do you weep and grieve
If in a life hereafter you firmly believe
If they had lived as good people their passing you should celebrate
And you as a good person will go to join them on some future date
We all share one common fear the fear of the unknown
But like it is said to each their own
And like all things of Nature we are born to die
And in that respect you are no different to i.
