Lilting Lullaby Poem by Dawn Novus

Lilting Lullaby

Soft snuffling cry of a babe tonight

So safe in her mother's arms strong and tight

Hush little darlin, don't you cry

And I will sing again to you

This lilting lullaby

A kiss on her forehead

Placed tender and true

Her lips form a heart shape

An indelible tattoo

Remember that lullaby?

Tune is simple and sweet

Tis the lilting lullaby

Of a love song complete
