(limerick) Intro To A Tom Swifty Fifty

It's not always pleasurable yachting
A breeze if you please (noted jotting)
A patient man I'm
In a place and a time
Extra paddles they should be allotting

Paddles indeed! I was once crewing a small dinghy for a Lady in the Estuary when we had a dead calm. I politely asked her for the anchor. She didn't have one! So I suggested (less politely) tying a rope round her neck and slinging her overboard instead! Luckily for her the wind returned before we had drifted very far! One of my favourite Tom Swiftys, Wes

our budgie has crippled his right claw and my wife is very anxious he has to heal himself but is not getting better. Looks like we are going to lose him.
