Lingering Memories Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Lingering Memories

Rating: 4.0

I sit me down in my chair,
Casting my eyes to admire the views
Through my window, to the distant trees,
Dressed today in their Autumn Hues.

I cast my Mind to memories gained
During my Life, to places seen,
Where I’ve retained the knowledge that,
HIS Creations were not in vain.

I’ve admired landscapes in Britain wide,
Throughout England, Wales and Scotland too,
During different Seasons of the Year,
From Trains and Cars ~ with Friends new.

On the Stepping Stones in Dovedale I’ve been,
To hear the Echoes, Admire the View,
To admire again those magnificent scenes,
My Heart does wish, each day, anew.

But these Scenes are just a Memory now,
To recall when I can sit and stare
Into the Sunshine, and Memories past
Linger forever ~ in my Mind ~ there.
