Linked To My Lord By My Own Beating Heart Poem by Mohammad Younus

Linked To My Lord By My Own Beating Heart

Linked to my lord by my own beating heart,
Though I do not see him in cosmos vast,
Yet I feel his presence manifest and real.
He proves existence with his special smiles,
Overwhelming me with phenomenal light.
I feel him in my heart, he enlightens me,
Wishing I could see him with my own eyes.
Yet he transcends the vision of the flesh,
Ashamed am I of this foolish wish I've penned.
My Zikr is the stunning voice, Hu, from him.
My lord, I believe, formed me from clay,
A sounding clay that echoes with his word.
I find his holy voice, Hu, touching me,
As breezes touch the petals of the blooms.
Without him, I have no words to describe
How much I adore and miss his presence.
From him, I've gained all love and affection
Since the hour he first created my soul.
His holy word resounds within my being,
I recall the day of Alast, when he
Took from me the covenant to submit,
Ever to his lordship, always in faith.
