Little Girl Poem by ANJANDEV ROY

Little Girl

The little girl was crying bitterly
In the busy railway station,
She was wearing a shabby dress,
I went close to her anxiously
And asked her the reason of it;
She told me hesitantly that
Her parents had left her there from their remote village,
As she was a girl child.
Tears came in my eyes,
Being extremely disappointed,
I looked at the clean blue sky and asked it,
"Is this our beautiful earth? "
